Students from all over the country began moving into Kent State residence halls, on a staggered schedule for COVID-19 safety, on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Move-in times were scheduled from the 18th through Sunday, Aug. 22.

Some student volunteers were available to answer questions and assist new students in getting settled into their rooms. Students could be seen busily carrying all the essential items they needed to help make their rooms feel like “a home away from home.”

Students’ return to campus comes in advance of KSU Kickoff activities beginning on Sunday, Aug. 22, and the start of fall semester classes on Aug. 26.

KSU Kickoff welcomes new, incoming students to campus with nearly a full week of fun events and activities. The schedule includes required orientation events along with other special opportunities to celebrate the start of the fall semester. Some KSU Kickoff events feature food, music and giveaways.

As some of these students moved in to begin their on-campus experience, they were able to catch a glimpse of the end of their Kent State journey. On Saturday, Aug. 21, commencement ceremonies for summer graduates took place at Manchester Field, in the heart of the Kent Campus.
