Top Five On-Campus Winter Events You Won’t Want to Miss

Looking for something to fill your time between studying for finals and packing to go home for the holidays? Here are a few events you can enjoy while you’re still on campus and one you can look forward to when you get back.

Warm Winter Wishes Postcard Event: Nov. 30, 2022

Show your loved ones that you care this holiday season with a handwritten postcard.

Parents and Families Engagement is hosting a postcard writing event. Send winter wishes home to your family and friends in a festive way before winter break. Postage will be included while supplies last.

Visit the Kent State Student Center between 1-2 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2022, to enjoy some festive treats and send your loved ones winter postcards.

Breakfast with Santa: Dec. 3, 2022  

Santa Claus is coming to Kent State on Dec. 3 for a jolly breakfast and photo session. Enjoy a hot breakfast, crafts and a photo with Santa from 9-11 a.m. in Room 218 of the Kent Student Center.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 330-672-3202.

Registration for this event closes on Nov. 30.

Kent State Choral Holiday Collage Concert: Dec. 3, 2022

Get ready for the holidays with some festive tunes. The Kent State Chorale is performing its annual holiday collage concert at 3 p.m. on Dec. 3 in University Auditorium in Cartwright Hall.

Flash Activities Board (FAB) Take and Make: Dec. 5-7, 2022

What screams winter more than staying at home and crafting?

FAB’s monthly “Take and Make” is a winter-themed snowman decoration. Anyone can pick up the supplies they need to make this decoration between Dec. 5-7 in Room 227 of the Kent Student Center.

A tutorial on how to assemble the snowman decoration will be posted on Dec. 7.

There will be a limited amount of snowman kits available, so make sure you get yours before they’re gone!

School of Art Holiday Sale: Dec. 8-9, 2022

For the last minute shoppers, the School of Art is hosting a holiday sale on Dec. 8-9. Get unique, handmade, gifts created by Kent State students to show your loved ones you care. The sale will take place in the Center for the Visual Arts Atrium between 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Flash Activities Board (FAB) 2023 Winter Blast: Jan. 20, 2023

Even if you miss every other event on this list, you still have more to look forward to when you come back to campus. FAB is already planning its Winter Blast for Jan. 20, 2023. While details are currently scarce, the claim is that it’ll be “bigger than ever.”
