This Halloween, the Kent State social media team wanted to answer the most important Halloween question: Which candy is the best? They took to the streets, asking members of the community both in person and on Instagram to narrow down the picks.
Round 1 started with 32 sweet picks:
In the first round, Reese's, Kit Kat, Sour Patch Kids and Starburst moved on with decisive victories. Other matchups were very close - M&M's knocked out Snickers by 2 votes and Blow Pops topped Tootsie Pops by just one. That left the Sweetest 16.
The Sweetest 16 got narrowed down to the Extraordinary 8! In this round, we saw some close wins by fan favorites like Reese's and Starburst. But some Halloween heavy hitters (here's looking at you, Twix and Skittles) were elimated. Now it's on to the Final Four. Which candies made it to our final round? Take a look.
The fun-sized final candies are set. In the Chocolate Division, Reese's won the top spot over Kit Kat. In the Sour Division matchup, original Sour Patch Kids were too much for the watermelon variety. Starbursts were the favorites over gummy bears in the Chewy Division. Nerds blew the Blow Pop competition out of contention in the Halloween Staples Division.
