Now through Jan. 30 (excluding winter break), donate new, clean or gently used items for all ages including coats, hats, gloves and scarves. Winter coat and clothing donations will go to a variety of locations to help people in need, such as the Winter Warm Up Stations at SRVSS in the Williamson House, the CARES Center in the Student Center room 106; the Flashes Fighting Hunger Winter Warm Up Station in Tri-Towers; the Kent State Wilderness Wardrobe at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. 

  • The Office of Global Education invites you to its signature event, the International Cook-Off, on Nov. 20 from 6-8 p.m. Sample delicious dishes prepared by student culinary teams representing their home countries or regions. Teams will compete for first place, judged by a panel of notable Kent State University judges. Attendees can taste the dishes and vote for their favorite team and recipe for the People’s Choice Award. Winners will be announced around 7:20 p.m. This exciting event is free and open to the public.

  • In a webinar on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. hosted by the Office of Research Development, University Libraries faculty Cindy Kristof and Virginia Dressler will discuss authors' rights and strategies for negotiating publication agreements for articles, books and book chapters. Examples of contracts will be shared along with strategies for reading and understanding them, as well as examples of rights you may want to retain. Presenters will also share two success stories of navigating open access through publisher negotiations.
