Porthouse Theatre's International Academy offers opportunities for students from across the globe to spend three weeks at Kent State University experiencing the inner workings of a professional theatre and taking classes in the theatre arts.
Porthouse Academies Cancelled for 2020
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Porthouse Theatre's academies are cancelled for the summer of 2020. We look forward to welcoming students back for Porthouse's educational programs in the summer of 2021.
Dates: CANCELLED for 2020
Throughout the three-week program, students will experience life on an American college campus, take classes in dance, acting, and voice, and observe rehearsals of Porthouse Theatre's production of West Side Story.
Tuition and Expenses
The 2019 cost of the three-week Porthouse International Academy is approximately $2,400.00 per person*.
*Discounts may be available for institutions sending 6 or more students.
What is Included in Tuition:
- Two weeks of theatre classes (3 per day)
- One week of 4 Master Classes
- Attendance at Porthouse Opening Night performance and reception of The Music Man
- Dormitory housing (2 students per room)
- Two 1-day shopping or sightseeing trips (optional)
- Transportation to and from Porthouse Theatre to observe technical rehearsals
- Access to Kent State Recreation Center and University Library
What is Not Included in Tuition:
