This summer, Kent State University's School of Theatre and Dance upheld its legacy of fostering community connections through the inclusion of three Kent State affiliates in the reading of "Sister Chemistry." 

  • Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University’s outdoor summer theatre located on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, invites you to its season of possibilities, beginning on June 12, 2026. In its 58th season, Porthouse Theatre will present “Grease,” “Side Show In Concert,” and “Lerner and Loewe's Brigadoon” in the summer of 2026.

  • Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance kicks off the spring semester of its 2025-2026 season with "Something Rotten!," running Feb. 20 through March 1 in E. Turner Stump Theatre, located in the Center for Performing Arts on the Kent campus.

  • This year, the Kent State B.F.A. Musical Theatre program made strides in student professional and educational advancement across the region with the launch of its inaugural Porthouse Experience course.

  • Recently, Playhouse Square caught up with three Kent State School of Theatre and Dance and Dazzle Award alumni, Anthony Ghali, Karsen Guldan and Margo Tipping. Ghali and Guldan are performing with Disney Cruise Lines, while Tipping is performing on the Regent Seven Seas Splendor. Each took time to answer questions about their experience in the Dazzle Awards, their education and careers and their experience performing on cruise ships.

  • The School of Theatre and Dance is thrilled to announce its 2026-2027 season: Fall Faculty Dance Concert, "Perfect Arrangement," “Bright Star,” " She Loves Me" and "Romeo and Juliet."

    The School of Theatre and Dance is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST).
