The B.F.A. in Theatre Design Technology and Production prepares students for careers as professional theatre designers, technicians, and artisans. Students train in traditional and new methods of theatrical design and technology, graduating as dynamic and creative theatre practitioners.
The B.F.A. in Musical Theatre prepares students for life as working artists in the musical theatre field with fully developed skills in music, acting and dance. Practical training and creative experiences are coupled with an interdisciplinary liberal arts curriculum and a foundation in theatre theory and history. Students have the opportunity to participate in the Musical Theatre Showcase.
The B.A. in Theatre Studies allows students to pair their interest in theatre with a traditional liberal arts education. Students may concentrate in one of four areas: Performance, Production, Theatre Management, or Theatre and Society.
The School of Theatre and Dance offers several minors in theatre for students interested in supplementing their major program with studies in theatre. All students pursuing a minor in theatre complete general theatre coursework and select one area of specialization. Students do course work in acting, script analysis and design and technology and select one of several areas of concentration.
The Master of Fine Arts program in Acting is intended for the returning professional and prepares those with extensive acting experience for other careers in the field, enriching and expanding their understanding of theatre.
The School of Theatre and Dance offers a Master of Fine Arts program in Theatre Design and Technology for students wishing to pursue graduate-level training in the areas of Costume Design, Lighting Design, Scenic Design or Theatre Technology.
