Since 1968, Porthouse Theatre has entertained scores of Northeast Ohio audiences and provided training opportunities for countless developing theatre artists. Important 2021 Subscription and Ticket Information
Porthouse Theatre will open at full capacity this summer. Subscribers who did not roll over or donate their 2020 subscriptions can renew beginning June 1 at 11:00 a.m. New subscriptions and single tickets will go on sale June 9 at 11:00 a.m.
Current Policy on Face Coverings
Porthouse Theatre adheres to the policies and procedures set forth by Kent State University. At this time, those fully vaccinated against COVID-19 do not need to wear a face covering outdoors on any of our campuses. We strongly recommend that unvaccinated people continue to wear face coverings outdoors, particularly when they cannot maintain safe physical distancing from others.

Live Theatre Returns to Porthouse with "Quilters," June 17 - July 8
Porthouse Theatre is thrilled to bring live, in-person theatre back to Northeast Ohio and Kent State University with the first production of its 2021 season, "Quilters." Running June 17 - July 3, "Quilters" is directed and choreographed by Porthouse's Producing Artistic Director Terri Kent and music directed by Jennifer Korecki.
Porthouse To Open 2021 Season at Full Capacity June 17
Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University's summer professional theatre located on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, will open its 2021 season for in-person performances at full capacity on June 17. After cancelling its 2020 season due to COVID-19, Porthouse will return this summer with productions of "Quilters," "BKLYN," and "Altar Boyz."
Based on updated government recommendations and Kent State University protocols, physical distancing is no longer required for outdoor events and Porthouse's 500-seat house will be seated at full capacity.
