More than 450 students in grades 5-12 from public and private schools and homeschools will exhibit science projects and compete in the Ohio Academy of Science’s 2026 Regional Science Day on Saturday, March 21, at Kent State University. 

Networking, a gallery exhibit and a new director were all part of a celebratory event at Kent State's Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative on Feb. 24.

London-based designer and artist Adam Nathaniel Furman, celebrated for his vibrant approach to space, color and identity, visits Kent State University for a lineup of events this March as part of the Thomas Schroth Visiting Artist Series.

The A.I.D. training — which stands for Awareness,  Interaction, and Direction — was created in 2019 by the Center for Public Policy and Health in the College of Public Health, teaches participants how to recognize signs of mental distress, engage in compassionate and effective conversations with someone who may be struggling and connect that person with the resources they need.

Meet Rushitha and Ruhitha Chinchalapu, twins from India, both pursuing their master's in business analytics. As they are in the same graduate program, the sisters reflect on how being twins has contributed to their experience at Kent State University.

Kent State University’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative has received a $20,000 award from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) through the Grants for Arts Projects program. The funding will support wintertime temporary art installations and a public event on Cleveland’s Veterans Memorial Bridge as part of the NEA’s America250 initiative.

Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill at 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18. Kent State University will be participating in this test.

This year’s May 4 Commemoration, to be held May 1-4, 2026, will include special remembrances of John Cleary, one of the nine wounded students, and Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Sociology, who served as a faculty marshal during the campus shootings and worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of May 4 would endure. 

Kent State Vice President and Director of Athletics Randale L. Richmond announced that women's basketball head coach Todd Starkey will depart for another coaching opportunity and is naming associate head coach Fran Recchia as the program's seventh head coach.

E-Cycling is recycling for sustainable disposal of unwanted electronics. Kent State's E-Cycle Drive is happening 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m every Wednesday in March.

Kent State Men's Basketball (24-19) has punched their ticket to the 2026 National Invitation Tournament. The Golden Flashes will play on the road at Illinois State University on Wednesday, March 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. This following a strong season that saw the blue and gold reach the Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinal.

The Kent State Men's Basketball team's run to a MAC Championship came to an end, as the team fell to Akron 75-68 in the MAC Semifinals in Cleveland, Ohio.

Foggy days on campus are a sign that warmer temperatures and springtime weather are on the way.
