“Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts," is inscribed on a plaque at the Kent State Student Memorial Garden on Manchester Field on the Kent Campus. It was created in 2015 in remembrance of all Kent State students who have died.

The inspiration for the Student Memorial Garden came from Undergraduate Student Government and other student organizations who advocated for a permanent student memorial on campus. The garden is maintained by University Facilities Management and features seasonal plantings, stone benches and a waterfall, designed to mask the sounds outside of the garden for quiet contemplation.
