Kent State Celebrates Its Newest Graduates With Fall Commencement Ceremonies
The Kent State University alumni family grew by more than 2,300 new graduates as the university held its fall commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2023 were recognized with in-person commencement ceremonies for all colleges and degrees on Dec. 15-16. The fall commencement ceremonies were livestreamed at www.kent.edu/commencement.
In total, 2,309 degrees were conferred this fall, consisting of 441 associate degrees, 1,389 bachelor’s degrees, 422 master’s degrees, 54 doctoral degrees and three educational specialist degrees.
More than 1,100 of the graduating students confirmed their participation in the commencement ceremonies.
During the commencement ceremonies, graduating students heard from Kent State President Todd Diacon and Senior Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley. Graduating students crossed the stage and had their names announced during the ceremonies on the Kent Campus at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center. The Advanced Degree Ceremony took place at 6 p.m. on Dec. 15, and the Undergraduate Degree Ceremonies were held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Dec. 16.
To participate in the in-person commencement, graduating students had to complete their ceremony RSVP by mid-October. Each graduating student registered for commencement was provided with tickets for their guests to attend.
