Ohio State Sen. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) toured Kent State University's airport on Oct. 14 getting an up-close look at the aircraft and facilities that support the university's aviation program and expressing his support for Kent State and its aviation mission.
Weinstein, who represents Ohio's 28th Senate District, saw the airport's fleet and learned about the role the facility plays in training the next generation of pilots and aviation professionals.
The airport, which handles more than 72,500 flight operations annually, is a hub for Kent State's College of Aeronautics and Engineering and a resource for the region's general aviation community.
A graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and an Air Force veteran, Weinstein brings a longtime interest in aviation and aerospace to the Statehouse.
He previously was named to the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee as a member of the Ohio House and currently serves as ranking member of the Senate Armed Services, Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee.
