The Women in Aviation International (WAI) Chapter at Kent State University has received a $5,000 donation from Republic Airways, an official partner of the university's College of Aeronautics and Engineering's (CAE).

The funds will support 10 students from Kent State to attend the 35th annual WAI Conference in Orlando, Florida, March 21-23 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

Republic Airways serves as one of the pathway programs for Kent State’s professional pilot major.

“Each year at the Women in Aviation International Conference, Republic Airways and Leadership in Flight Training (LIFT) Academy celebrate the female aviators of the world. This year, Republic Airways is proud to sponsor ten students from Kent State University’s Women in Aviation Chapter to attend the 35th Annual Women in Aviation International Conference. Republic looks forward to witnessing these students thrive as they continue towards the mission of their Chapter and their dreams in professional flight. The Women in Aviation International Conference is a great way to celebrate all female aviators paving the way for future women in aviation.”

Mackenzie Kramer, a professional pilot student scheduled to graduate in 2024 and the chapter's president, will lead the group to the conference. Carissa Neff, the club's faculty adviser, expressed gratitude to Republic Airways for its support.
