    Biography

    Dr. Abdelhakim Al Turk is an Assistant Professor in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at Kent State University, where he joined in Fall 2024 and serves as the faculty lead for the Industrial Systems Engineering program, launching in Fall 2026. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Rafik Hariri University in Beirut, Lebanon, and his master’s and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Wichita State University in Wichita Kansas, where he was recognized as the Outstanding Shocker Graduate of Fall 2020.

    Dr. Turk teaches courses in Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing, Facility Planning and Material Handling, Project Management, Statistical Analysis for Engineers, Quality Engineering, and Industrial and Environmental Safety at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. His work focuses on additive manufacturing, quality engineering, and industrial systems, with an emphasis on practical, industry-driven applications. He advises the SME S180 Student Chapter and Theta Tau Engineering Fraternity. He is the recipient of the SME Distinguished Faculty Advisor Award (2025) in recognition of his leadership and contributions to engineering education.

    His research includes additive manufacturing safety, facility design, and 3D printing of cementitious materials using binder jetting, along with advanced materials and emerging applications in construction and wearable technologies.He also focuses on process optimization and quality engineering to improve performance, reliability, and scalability of additive manufacturing systems.
