Israel/Palestine | CAS International Programs and Education Abroad | Kent State University

This study abroad course examines some salient issues of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

This study abroad course examines some salient issues of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. At the end of the course you should be able to articulate the positions of the major parties to the conflict, with the understanding that there is no single, unified Zionist (or Jewish) or Palestinian (or Arab or Muslim/Christian) position. You will understand the theoretical literature such as settler-colonialism as well as understand the effects of the conflict’s occupation on the occupiers and the occupied. Vigorous debate and informed criticism is strongly encouraged. Criticism and responses expressed in a civil tone is an important way to get a fuller and more truthful picture of any conflict.

This program is open to Kent State and non-Kent State students, as well as community stakeholders. Non-KSU students/community stakeholders will be required to apply to the university as a guest student and enroll in a 1-credit hour course, in addition to the program fee associated with this course.
