Large Turnout for Wellness Fair at Salem

The Wellness Fair held during the first week after Spring Break proved to be popular with the students, as many of them took time to learn about resources that are available to help deal with anxiety, stress, addictions and wellness.

Katherine Vance-Righetti, the mental health counselor for the Salem and East Liverpool campuses was quite pleased by the response and said she is already thinking of ways to make the next event just as appealing to students.

"The turnout was fantastic and we had great interaction with the students," she said. "It was a fun way to shed light on some serious issues and direct people to agencies in our community that can help."

Aside from Kent State University at Salem, other agency sponsors included the Family Recovery Center's Young Adult Alcohol Prevention Initiative, the Salem Regional Medical Center's Behavioral Medicine and Wellness Center and Ohio Programs for Campus Safety and Mental Health.
