American Association of Airport Executives (KSU-AAAE)

The Kent State Student Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (KSU-AAAE) was officially charted in January 2005 as the first student chapter of AAAE in Ohio, birthplace of aviation. As a student chapter of AAAE, which was originally established in September 1928, as a professional organization to advance the interests of the airport management profession, membership in KSU-AAAE is open to all Kent State University students. Members of KSU-AAAE engage in several professional development activities that include guest lectures and seminars by aviation professionals. They also participate in educational field trips to aeronautical facilities, such as airports and air traffic control towers. Membership in KSU-AAAE provides students with opportunities for conference travel, cooperative education and training, internships, scholarships, and interaction with current and aspiring professionals in aviation. In June 2015, KSU-AAAE Faculty Advisor Dr. I. Richmond Nettey and Chapter President Josh Euston led a delegation of five from the Kent State chapter of AAAE to participate in the 87th Annual Conference and Exposition of AAAE in Philadelphia, PA. During this conference, Dr. Nettey and Josh Euston were selected to facilitate the Faculty Advisor Workshop and Student Chapter Workshop, respectively, a distinguished privilege. In Academic Year 2015-2016, KSU-AAAE planned field trips to PIT, DTW, YYZ, etc. KSU-AAAE also planned on attending NBAA's 2015 Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in Las Vegas, NV in Fall 2015 and AAAE's 88th Annual Conference and Exposition in Houston, TX during Spring 2016. Membership dues in the KSU-AAAE Chapter are $10/Semester, while national AAAE dues are $40/Year.
