Barefeet Dance Tribe

Barefeet Dance Tribe is a traditional and modern African dance group.The focus of this group is to educate others about the African culture and its dance styles and to bring awareness to the growth of Afrobeats in the United States. Barefeet Dance Tribe was established in Kent, Ohio in 2009. Barefeet got its recognition from performing at Kent State University's Africa Night in 2010 and has quickly gained popularity throughout these past few years in various events such as talent showcases, banquets, competitions, birthdays, conferences festivals, etc. in Kent, Akron, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus area. Barefeet Dance Tribe is known for its diverse song choices ranging from African artists such as Sarkodie, WizKid, D'banj, Davido. Some major events that Barefeet Dance has participated in, Liberia's Independence day festival in Cleveland at City Hall in front of Mayor Jackson. The Mid-West Mixup in Columbus Ohio in 2013, Steppin 4 Life Step show in Cleveland and Akron's African American Festival in Akron in 2014 and opened a show for rap artist Stalley in 2015. The group continues to amaze crowds and bring awareness to an eccentric dance style not common in the United States. Since 2009, The group is still active and have gained popularity by other organizations and strives to educate others through the form of dance.
