Culture of Care Institute

Each August, the Kent State Leadership Center hosts the Culture of Care Institute, an event that invites student leaders from across campus to come together and discuss their role in community development on campus. This initiative was an effort that resulted from a sub-committee of the Great Place Initiative, which seeks to address the campus climate study results that indicated a lack of sense of belonging for some of our students.  The overarching goal of the program is to help these prominent leaders understand their role in making Kent State a great place to learn, work, and live by creating a culture of care that demonstrates respect and compassion for all.

Participants in the past have included Student Leadership Consultants, Undergraduate Student Government, Kupita/Transiciones Mentors and Navigators, fraternity and sorority members, campus tour guides, Flash Activities Board officers, and other prominent student leaders.
