National Organization of Minority Architecture Students

As a student chapter of the professional organization, National Organization of Minority Architects, NOMA; we continue a legacy of over 30 years into CAED at Kent State University. 

NOMAS at Kent State University is here to ensure that minorities, and student of color have a space to practice, diversify, and express their authentic selves. We want to create an environment for people of color within the CAED (College of Architecture and Environmental Design) to network, learn from one another, and discover their place. We are open to students studying the following or related subjects: ArchitectureInterior DesignArchitectural StudiesConstruction ManagementUrban DesignLandscape DesignHealthcare Designand related Visual Arts majors.

As a Cultural Organization, we aim to accommodate minority identifying students. This includes but is NOT limited to persons identifying as:
 -Indigenous/ Native American/ Alaskan Native
 -Asian/ Asian-American
 -Black/ African-American
 -Hispanic/ Latino/ Latinx
 -Native Hawaiian/ Pacific Islander

-Multi-racial (More than one racial Identity)
 **Persons Allied to the cause of Environmental Design and Construction as Diverse Practices.


We aim to:
 -Create a community of students relating through similar experiences
 -Connect you to networks with working professionals
 -Help you hone your skills in your specific discipline
 -Provide a space for you to be your authentic self
