University Dining Services realizes the importance of healthy options and good nutrition. For that reason, wholesome foods are offered that accommodate special diets and also provide an all-around great meal. We provide gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options on a daily basis. 

Gluten Free LogoGluten Free 

A Gluten Free diet excludes the protein gluten. Gluten can be found in wheat, barley, rye and other derivatives. The gluten-free diet is primarily used to treat Celiac Disease. We provide gluten-free options at our True Balance station located in the Eastway Dining Hall as well as other locations on campus.

Vegetarian LogoVegetarian 

A vegetarian diet consists of eating mainly a plant based diet and refraining from the consumption of meat. There are different kinds of vegetarian diets. Lactovegetarian diets consist of the consumption of dairy and plant based meals. Lacto-ovo vegetarian diets consist of the consumption of dairy products, eggs and also plant based meals. Pescatarian diets consist of the consumption of plant based meals and also the consumption of fish. Kent State University Dining is here to support plant based dining. The University has received an A+ Report Card from Peta2 for providing great vegetarian and vegan options. Eastway Fresh Food Company, and the DI Dining Hall accommodate vegetarian diets.

Vegan LogoVegan 

A vegan diet consists of the consumption of only plant based meals. It completely excludes the consumption of all animal products, such as meat and also products made from animals, including dairy. A vegan diet consists mainly of fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains, seeds, and nuts. Eastway Fresh Food Company and the DI dining hall accommodate vegan diets.
