Celebrate Black History Month with a multimedia exploration of the story of poet Mwatabu S. Okantah, interim chair of the Department of Africana Studies, as he tells of self-discovery, healing and transformation using poetry set to music. Afterward, enjoy a dessert reception and browse the TEXTURES exhibit.
This event will also be livestreamed for those unable to join in person.

Due to changes in the Mid American Conference schedule, this game has been moved to Friday, Feb. 18. | Location remains Blue and Gold Loge, M.A.C. Center.

Cheer on the Golden Flashes during the Kent State Men’s Basketball team against the Ohio University Bobcats. Come hungry for a victory and a buffet dinner! The pre-game buffet will begin at 6 p.m., and tip off is at 7 p.m.

Join us at 6:30 p.m. for a reception in the Black Box Theatre prior to the 7:30 p.m. showtime in the Stump Theatre. Disney’s Freaky Friday, performed by our talented theatre and dance students, explores what happens when an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies and have just one day to put things right again.

Take part in an exclusive opportunity to prepare authentic Italian small plates under Kent State Hospitality Management Professor and Italian cuisine specialist Chef Anthony Hamilton in the newly opened Design Innovation Hub’s Teaching Kitchen.
For this intimate event, you and your guest will prepare small plates from 6 - 8 p.m. while enjoying Italian wine. All food will then be plated and served at the post-lesson reception for all participants to enjoy. Please note that food cannot be eaten while it is being prepared in the kitchen.
*Additional tickets can be purchased for the Freaky Friday performance and Men's Basketball game through this separate ticket page.
