Joanne Arnett earned a Master of Fine Arts from Kent State University (textiles) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (fashion design) from California Design College. She began working as a fashion stylist while living in Southern California, then moved to Germany where she worked for fashion and commercial photographers in France, Germany, and Switzerland. After returning to the U.S. she opened a portrait studio in Long Beach, California and photographed events throughout the United States and Europe. She was named one of the top ten wedding and portrait photographers in the nation by the Professional Photographers of America. Her work has been published in Max, Marie Claire, Sybille, Latina, Coast Magazine, and Martha Stewart Weddings. Joanne was the Curatorial Assistant at the Kent State University Museum before joining the Fashion School faculty. Her current work combines photography and textiles to create art that has been exhibited as part of Fiberart International and the International TECHstyle Art Biennial. Her hand woven portraits have been featured in the Huffington Post, Trend Hunter, and Juxtapoz.
