Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority

Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority provides free transportation on and off campus. Off campus locations include: Target, Walmart, Aldi, and many more. Provides paid transportation to Akron and Cleveland.

• Must show Kent State FlashCard when boarding the bus to receive free rides.

SPIN

SPIN provides eBikes and eScooters for students to ride on and off campus. Offers various ride pass options ranging from a monthly pass to a pay as you go.

Eligibility:

Student Legal Services can provide legal services (e.g., Criminal Lawyer, Kent DUI attorney, Ohio landlord tenant lawyer, etc.) for Kent state students.

Provides legal advocacy and support services for survivors of domestic violence regardless of age or gender.

Community Legal Aid can provide legal aid for low income individuals.. Can apply online or call hotline. Does not guarantee legal services.

• Must be a resident of Portage County
• Income eligibility is determined on a case by case basis.The hotline operator can determine eligibility.

Drivers License or State issued non-driver ID

Can issue state issued non- driver ID cards or a drivers license.

Eligibility:

To obtain a non-driver ID, you must provide:

• Full legal name
• Date of birth
• Social security number
• Ohio residency

To obtain a drivers license you must:

• Take and pass an exam to obtain a temporary permit
• Prepare for, schedule, and pass drivers test

The Phyllis Zumkehr County Clothing Center provides free, gently used clothing and other personal and household items.

My Free Taxes provides email, chat, and phone support if you file your own taxes

Or can file taxes for you if you make less than $60,000/year. 

Eligibility: 

• Must provide Social Security number if filing for yourself or a photocopy of
• Social Security card if you have taxes done for you.
