Employee Wellness was recently informed by WW (formerly Weight Watchers) that after careful consideration, WW has decided to discontinue Workshops in the Workplace. This decision was based upon many factors, including WW’s aim to focus on digitally-led solutions, such as their Virtual Workshops. Many who were previously attending Kent State’s Workshops in the Workplace have already transitioned to attending Virtual Workshops, and now we have the opportunity to grow our WW community even larger by expanding the offering to those working at all KSU locations! All KSU full and part-time employees, spouses/partners, family members, students and retirees are also welcome to join WW using the KSU Employer ID.
Lose Weight, Feel Good with WW Virtual Workshops
WW Workshops provide the flexibility of the all-new Freestyle Program. Built and based on the WW science-backed SmartPoints® system, WW Freestyle encourages you to eat more fruits, veggies, lean protein, and less sugar and unhealthy fats.
Learn how to spend your personalized SmartPoints Budget on any food you like, learn more about ZeroPoint foods, on how you can use “rollovers” to transfer extra SmartPoints to another day, keeping the program flexible and livable.
You’ll also receive the added support of the WW Mobile app with your enrollment in either the monthly pass or online program. This is just another way that WW can help you stay on task and remain flexible with you.
WW Virtual Workshops
Kent State employees can attend WW meetings ‘together’ by logging on for the same live Virtual Workshop each week. While WW members can opt to join any virtual meeting that fits their schedule and preference, we have identified Virtual Workshops hosted by Susan Mattingly, who was Kent State’s onsite WW coach.
Join the North Canton Connect Group on Thursday at 9 AM or 6 PM or on Friday at 11:30 AM with Susan Mattingly and keep the KSU connection.
If you are already a WW Digital + Workshops member but haven’t joined a live Virtual Workshop, now is the time! Check out this video for a little bit about what other WW members are saying about their experience. You may also find general instructions on how to join a live Virtual Workshop here.
How to Enroll
Those interested in joining WW can still join using Kent State’s Employer ID to receive a discounted rate. To learn more and sign up for a membership, visit https://www.weightwatchers.com/us/wwhs and click on “see discounted rates”. Then enter Kent State Employer ID: 20894. Make sure to select the Digital + Workshops plan if you want the ability to attend Virtual Workshops. After joining, use the instructions on how to join a live Virtual Workshop link on the left to get started!
The portal contains information about WW product offerings, meeting locations and payment plans. If you need assistance enrolling in WW, please call the WW Wellness Helpdesk at 866-204-2885.
Current WW members must cancel their previous account and re-sign through the portal in order to import your previous information.
Medical Mutual Reimbursement
The incentive program for employees who have medical coverage through Medical Mutual of Ohio will continue for the monthly pass. Reimbursement depends on the number of At Work meetings attended. You will receive a $50 reimbursement for attending at least 10 meetings in a 12-week series or 14 meetings in a 17-week series. Members are eligible for a maximum reimbursement of $150 per calendar year by completing the Medical Mutual Reimbursement Form (PDF). There is no reimbursement for the WW Digital only program.
