Vehicle Rental Program

Kent State University, along with the Inter-University Council of Ohio, has entered into a vehicle rental contract with Enterprise/National for business rentals.  Drivers renting a vehicle for University business for local use and out of state travel are required to rent from Enterprise/National. 

  • The rental information below is for University-related business purposes travel only.
  • The primary driver must be a current employee of Kent State University. The primary and all additional drivers must be 18 years or older and be authorized to operate motor vehicles owned or leased by Kent State University. All drivers who operate motor vehicles owned or leased by the university shall have the validity of their operator licenses reviewed on an annual basis. The department head, director, dean, or other administrator responsible for the employee's respective department shall provide the Kent State University department of public safety a list of names and operator license numbers of all employees authorized to operate motor vehicles owned or leased by the university. The department of public safety will check the validity of the employees' licenses through the bureau of motor vehicles of the state of Ohio or other appropriate state. The director of public safety shall notify the appropriate submitting administrator of any employee not properly licensed to operate a motor vehicle. The employees' department shall be responsible for the cost of the verification of valid driver's license.  ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY REGARDING ASSIGNMENT OF AUTOMOBILES 5 - 12.5
  • Vehicles must be rented under Kent State University Account Number in order to receive contracted rates.  Please contact procurement@kent.edu for the Kent State University Account Number.
  • NOTE: Kent State University Flashcard ID MUST be presented at time of pickup to verify staff/faculty status.
