Scholarship Established in Memory of Senior Journalism Major

The Devin C.G. Moore Memorial Scholarship has been established in honor of Kent State student Devin Christian Gregory Moore. A senior broadcast journalism student, Devin died suddenly on Dec. 6, 2017, while playing basketball with friends.

His parents, Christa Poole and Darryl Moore, established the scholarship in Devin’s honor, and it will be awarded to an underrepresented/minority student pursuing a degree in journalism, with an interest in broadcast journalism.

Devin hosted a radio show on Black Squirrel Radio and was an entertainment reporter for Kent State Student Media’s TV2. He was highly engaged in campus life as a member of Black United Students and Integrated Greek Council. He also served as Basileus of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Psi Gamma Chapter 2015. He was Omega Psi Phi’s 2017 Excellence and Scroll Honor Award Recipient. He was also named the 2017 4th District Undergraduate Omega Man of the Year. At Kent State, Devin pursued his dream of a career in broadcasting as a basketball commentator or analyst.
