Lean Practitioner Certification
In Lean Practitioner Certificate, participants will gain the skills necessary to make significant process improvements. You will learn to identify waste in your processes, as well as utilize the tools and techniques needed to eliminate it. This intensive program uses a combination of practical examples and hands-on simulations to ensure that you not only learn, but also master the concepts needed to make a Lean transformation.

How to Apply for this Program
The Lean Practitioner Certification Program includes five full days** of training delivered over two to three weeks. **Currently, the program is offered online and consists of 8 days (10-3) spread over 3 weeks.
This certification is completed in teams of 4-5 people and includes a project requirement which is expected to be completed within 120 days after the training.
You will also be expected to report out to the Lean Steering Committee at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days to show your progress and project completion.
You are encouraged to have a team and project identified, but if you do not, you can still apply for the program. Your division’s Lean Liaison will be able to work with you to determine a team or project.
Lean Leader Certification
Our partner, The Center for Corporate and Professional Development, provides the training and certification.
In Lean Leader Certification, participants will gain the knowledge of theories of change management, skills to lead and manage a project, capacity to plan and facilitate effective team meetings, the competency to plan and prepare cross-functional Kaizen events, and the understanding of your team members’ interaction styles and the ability to flex your style for effective communication.
For the full Lean Leader certification, you will be tasked with the challenge of leading one unit- or department-level process improvement project using the tools and presentation template provided in your Lean Practitioner training, and the leadership skills you will attain in this training. In addition, you will co-facilitate a three-day cross-functional Kaizen event.
The Lean Leader training consists of the following six programs:

- Managing Transition and Embracing Change
- Managing Accountability and Reducing Conflict in High-Performing Teams
- Essential Skills for Managing Projects
- Team Facilitation
