Digital Knitting Overview
This microcredential focuses on digital knitting from a perspective of designing, programming and knitting textiles on industrial knitting machines. In order to earn this microcredential, learners must complete 3 courses (9 credit hours). the first course, Digital Knit Programming 1 is required. After completing this course, students may pick two other courses from the following: Digital Knit Programming 2, Digital Knit Design, Digital Knit Applications. Digital Knit Programming 1 is a prerequisite for these courses. These courses enables participants to learn software, programming and technical knit skills along with how to design knitted textiles based on the capacity of machines and need for performance of the textile. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of stitches and how to program them on industrial knitting machines. This micro credential is geared toward people with industry experience from any field and is at an advanced level.
