The Purple Umbrella Network is committed to offering an extensive array of financial resources designed to empower individuals and organizations. Our initiatives encompass everything from educational materials and expert guidance to innovative financial tools and support services.

Financial, Billing and Enrollment Center

Provides resources for financial aid and scholarships, billing and payment, student records, transcripts, financial wellness, and more. 

Offering appointments for students and parents who need help completing the FASFA (FASFA In A Flash).

Foster Care to Success Scholarship

Foster Care to Success Scholarship

Foster Care to Success Scholarship is a renewable undergraduate scholarship of $2,500-$5,000 depending on need and merit. Applications are

only open from January 1-March 31 each year. 

Eligibility: 

  • Must have been in public or private foster care for at least one year before 18th birthday or placed into legal guardianship after the age of 16.

Kent State Scholarship Universe

The Kent State Scholarship Universe is an online search portal that helps match students to internal and external scholarship opportunities.

CARES Center

CARES Center

Kent State [Kent Campus] students experiencing an unexpected financial hardship may be eligible for the CARES Center mini emergency grant. The mini grant is a one-time grant for immediate emergency financial relief.

Eligibility: 

  • Must be a Kent State student at the main campus. 
  • Must have accepted all financial aid and loan offers in Flashline.

Ohio Reach Emergency Fund

Ohio Reach Emergency Fund

Ohio Reach Emergency Fund offers one time emergency financial assistance for students. 

Eligibility: 

  • Must have been in the Ohio foster care system or in kinship care.

Ohio Reach Scholarship

Ohio Reach Scholarship

Ohio Reach Scholarship Offers a $1,000 renewable scholarship given each semester for up to four years. 

Eligibility: 

  • Must have been in the custody of a public children service agency for at least one day after the age of 13. 
  • Must be enrolled part- or full-time in college in Ohio. 
  • Complete an application

Foster Love Family Fellowship

Foster Love Family Fellowship

Foster Love Family Fellowship provides financial and emotional support for
student impacted by foster care through tuition support, housing support, career support, and
more. Can provide tuition support for up to 5 years and provide a monthly housing allowance. 

Eligibility: 

  • Must have been in public or private foster care for at least one year before the 18th birthday.
  • Or adopted or placed into legal guardianship after the 13th birthday.
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 23
    Must be accepted to or enrolled in an undergraduate degree.
  • If currently in college, must maintain a 2.5 GPA.

Student Support Services

Student Support Services provides small need-based financial support for students who

may be facing cancellation or de-registration, housing challenges, or other concerns

Eligibility: 

  • Must be a first generation college student, have a designated income, or be registered with Student Accessibility Services.  
  • Must be a Student Support Services participant
