Teamwork Pays Off For Kent State Volleyball Players In Helping Build Habitat Home

After spending the first week of official practice focused on getting to know one another better on the court, as well as off the court during a two-night retreat, the Kent State volleyball team shifted their focus to helping out in the local community Saturday morning. All 16 players and members of the coaching staff volunteered for a few hours at a Habitat for Humanity home refurbishing site in Ravenna.

This was the second straight year the Golden Flashes have assisted Habitat for Humanity during preseason camp, and members of the organization's on-site crew were excited to see the team's smiling faces at 8:45 a.m.

The team worked on several facets of the project, including installation of vinyl siding, caulking and spackling windows, measuring, cutting and laying down baseboard trim in the bedrooms and installing subflooring in the bathroom.
