Kent State Trumbull nurses support the community following a crisis at the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley.

Kent State Trumbull’s Student Nurses Association (SNA) set up collection bins around campus and asked students, staff and faculty to donate new or gently used toys and books for the Rescue Mission.

“The Student Nurses Association is focusing on our community this year. We really want to help our community and reach out. We wanted to get as many donations as we could,” Valerie Salyers, a junior nursing major and president of the Student Nurse Association told WYTV.

SNA representatives and Kent State Trumbull Nursing faculty delivered the collection to the Rescue Mission on Sept. 18.

Kent State’s Student Nurses Association is a leadership-based organization that empowers and motivates students with career and leadership opportunities.
