Seminar

  • The seminar will focus on career opportunities at the FAA.  It will involve discussion on hiring, training, student loan forgiveness, etc., for persons hired by the FAA.
  • This is open to all CAE faculty, staff, and students but specifically targeting Aviation Management graduate candidates, recent graduates, and interested students.

Interviews

Detroit ADO will be conducting on-site interviews following the seminar from 3PM-5PM. You must sign up for an interview time slot in advance.

Drone Safety Day April 27 2024

Drone Safety Day (DSD) is the FAA’s annual campaign dedicated to educating the drone community of the importance of flying safely. DSD will highlight the societal, economic, and safety benefits of safe drone operations with in-person, virtual and hybrid events in focus areas such as education, economics, equity, environment, and emergencies. Kent State, the recipient of a major Aviation Workforce Development Grant for 2024, is presenting this outreach event to the general public.

Students in the Professional Development courses will be giving presentations on ethical case studies. They will present different sides of the case, demonstrating relevant professional and ethical standards, consider the impact of the issues from global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts, and apply ethical reasoning to make informed judgements and a final conclusion of the case.

Nikki Kukwa Memorial Aeronautics Camp 2024

The Nikki Kukwa Memorial Aeronautics Camp was established to celebrate the life of Nikki Kukwa. Nikki was a Kent State aeronautics student who was instrumental in establishing the Women in Aeronautics Club, was an exemplary student, and served as an inspiration to those who knew her. She passed away on Oct. 23, 2006, after receiving a leukemia diagnosis during her junior year at Kent State. This camp honors her positive influence in aeronautics, and we hope it inspires the next generation of female aviators.
