Kent State to Play Notre Dame in First Round of March Madness

Kent State (21-10) will play Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA Division 1 Basketball Tournament in South Bend, Indiana. The No. 15 seed Golden Flashes will play host No. 2 seed Notre Dame in a first-round matchup, with the winner advancing to play either No. 7 seed Ole Miss or No. 10 seed Marquette in the second round. All first and second round games will be played at the Joyce Center on the University of Notre Dame campus.

Kent State will be making its sixth overall NCAA Tournament appearance, most recently qualifying in 2002.

Women's basketball team MAC champions

Kent State captured its first Mid-American Conference Women's Basketball Tournament championship since 2002 on Saturday, defeating Buffalo 78-60, in the title game at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

NCAA Tournament ticket information will be announced in the coming days.
