PHI SIGMA IOTA - The International Foreign Language Honorary
Phi Sigma Iota is an honor society that recognizes outstanding achievement in the study of foreign languages. A minimum GPA of 3.3 is required for undergraduates and 3.5 for graduate students. Election to PSI is the highest honor in the field.
In addition, Phi Sigma Iota promotes friendship among its members and enthusiasm for foreign language study. The three letters stand for Philotes (friendship), Spoude (zeal for languages) and Idioma (research and individuality).
Participation in the local chapter Gamma Pi is open to all students who were inducted either here at Kent State University or at another institution.
