Sponsored by the University Research Council and the Division of Research and Sponsored Programs, this award is intended to honor Kent State’s exceptional researchers and scholars. The awardees will be selected based on the quality of research and scholarship and its impact on society. A ceremony and reception will be held on Thursday, April 19, at 4 p.m. as part of Faculty Appreciation Week.
Individuals who need help in preparing their 2015 income tax return may be eligible for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at Kent State University. A national program, VITA offers tax preparation assistance to low- to moderate-income taxpayers. The service is free to students, employees and community members who meet the eligibility requirements.

Located in Independence, Ohio, it is one of nine accredited podiatry colleges in the United States and is a four-year, graduate-level medical college, granting the degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.

Kent State University's holiday closure for 2024 will begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.
