Jason Shea

Jason Shea is a junior majoring in computer science. He is excited about the research opportunity with Kent State University’s Brain Health Research Institute as it allows him to use his computer programming skills to assist in important research for brain health.

“This summer, I will develop a virtual environment in which blindfolded test subjects will be required to navigate using only sounds,” Jason said. “The eventual goal is to discover better methods for the visually impaired to use computers or play video games.”

Jason’s research sponsor is Robert J. Clements, Ph.D. of the Biological Sciences department.

This research is being made possible because of Kent State’s Brain Health Research Institute and the generosity of those who support it, and outstanding students like Jason.

Jason is from a small town near Cleveland, Ohio. His hobbies include reading fantasy, riding horses and sword fighting.
