This is a first for all of us, but no matter where or how it is done, acknowledging how grateful we are for your support and commitment to Kent State University and WKSU is of the utmost importance to us! Thank you for joining us on this journey and most of all, for designating us in your estate plans.
As emcee during the live events, I normally recognize the newest members of the Herrick Society and I wanted to continue that tradition. Please view this list of our newest members. By adding us as an estate beneficiary, you have elevated us to the level of a loved one. This kind of commitment is deeply humbling, and we are forever grateful.
While we’re not together in person, we still wanted to provide a valuable and enriching experience for you. Directly below on this page, we have included resources we put together just for you, to enjoy at your leisure:
- View our video presentation featuring Kent State President Todd Diacon, and Michael Lehman, Ph.D., director of Kent State’s Brain Health Research Institute
- Read stories about a few of our Brain Health Research Institute Fellows
- Engage in Brain Health resources and learn how Kent State is a national leader in this field
- Learn more about the history of the Herrick Society
Finally, as I have been your emcee for nearly all the past Herrick Society events, I wanted to personally inform you that I have decided to “turn in my microphone” to start a new journey as a Kent State retiree. Thank you for making the last 20 plus years an absolute joy! My husband and I are looking forward to joining you at future Herrick Society events - now as fellow guests! Thank you for your support.

Herrick Society Presentation
During this video, Dr. Lehman discusses why we need to cross boundaries to solve the riddle of brain health and brain disease, and why we are uniquely poised to do this at Kent State. Also included in the video is a welcome message from President Todd Diacon, as well as messages from two of our BHRI student Fellows.
The students highlighted below and the projects they have chosen to work on this summer are great examples of the extraordinary caliber of our students. They are already shining brightly and we look forward to witnessing the limitless positive impacts they will have in their regions, across the nation and around the globe after they graduate.
Below, engage in brain health resources recommended by the BHRI and learn how Kent State is a national leader in this field. You can also access the National Institute of Health for informaton and resources on how to positively affect your brain health.
