Students pursuing the MS in Clinical Epidemiology will be taught by faculty trained in epidemiology methods and biostatistics. Clinical partners provide expertise through web-based lectures and can also serve as research mentors. All faculty hold advanced degrees and have years of research experience in cardiovascular and pulmonary disease, neurological disorders, infectious disease, pharmacology, and regulatory affairs.

To obtain their clinical epidemiology degree, students must complete a minimum of 36 credit hours in the program to graduate. Additionally, Kent State offers the only 100% online Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology in the area.

MS in Clinical Epidemiology Program Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for this MS program are:

  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or better

  • Acceptable GRE scores (or approved standardized tests such as MCAT, LSAT, DAT, PCAT, OR MAT). Scores older than five years are not acceptable and require retaking the GRE.

  • Three letters of recommendation from college or university faculty

  • Official transcripts from all educational institutions you have attended

  • Personal goal statement (to be submitted online during the application process)

Conditional Admission

Applicants to our Clinical Epidemiology MS degree who do not meet the minimum University or program requirements may be considered for conditional admission. Admission in such cases will depend heavily on other indices of the student's ability to succeed in graduate-level work. These might include strong performance on standardized tests, GPA in the major, or different experiences that indicate solid academic ability.
