Thank you for attending today's training session.  We will be learning how to create and edit content such at text, links, linked buttons, hero banner images, small feature images and to add an image inside a text box.  There will be several tips shared during this time so feel free to take notes and ask questions. Finally, please do not make any changes to this page, it needs to remain a resource for future attendees.

Tracking and Quality Assurance

Google Analytics (GA)

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic, currently as a platform inside the Google Marketing Platform brand. Google launched the service in November 2005 after acquiring developer Urchin.

Web Browser Requirements

Drupal is edited via the web browser. The following browsers are recommended with Drupal:

  • Google Chrome
  • Internet Explorer 11.x and later
  • Firefox 5.x and later
  • Opera 12 and later
  • Safari 5.x and later

Becoming a Drupal Editor

Each department decides who they would like to be an editor of their website. Once selected, all users are required to attend Drupal Training prior to website access. View Drupal Training availability here.

Signing in to Drupal

A first time login is required by you, after which University Communications and Marketing (UCM) can setup your account. 

Follow these steps to sign into Drupal with your FlashLine credentials:

  1. Go to https://www.kent.edu/user.
  2. Username = FlashLine User Name, for example ailge64 is the FlashLine User ID for ailge64@kent.edu (the part before @kent.edu)
    1. (Note: Student employees and Graduate Assistants must sign in with their _stu email accounts)
  3. Password = FlashLine password
  4. Click the Login button.

Logging In Day-to-Day

Login at www.kent.edu/user using your FlashLine credentials. You will be directed to your Dashboard and will have access to the black toolbar which contains information about the page you are viewing.
