August 2022 Social Media Recap

Welcome back, Golden Flashes! We hope you had a fantastic summer and even better start to the 2022 Fall Semester. Check out some of our best-performing posts from August!

The top post on Instagram welcomed the Class of 2026 as they formed the letter “K” on Centennial Field. This Reel received more than 66,000 views, making it our highest-viewed video on Instagram of all time!

Another top-performing post featured the busy weekend of move-in and summer commencement.

The university’s Facebook followers also welcomed the Class of 2026! The top-performing post for the month was the photo of the incoming class in the “K” formation.

Another notable post was the announcement that Kent State has been selected as one the nation’s top universities for LGBTQ+ students for the third consecutive year.

Like Instagram and Facebook, the top tweet of the month is the “K” formation photo.

Another top-performing post was one of our cutest posts to date. Take a look at the Kent State Police Department’s newest K-9 officer, Salem!

If you have been on Tiktok in the past month you have probably seen the “It’s Corn!” trend. (And you probably can’t get that song out of your head!)

Kent State hopped on this trend and our audience loved it! This TikTok was viewed more than 42,000 times making it our second best-performing post of all time on the app.
