CCI

College of Communication and Information

CCI Commons is the central hub for activities related to CCI majors at Kent State University. Our community is open to all students majoring in one of our five schools: Communication Studies, Emerging Media and Technology, Media and Journalism, Information, and Visual Communication Design. We’re located in Olson Hall along the esplanade, which is the busiest walkway on campus, so you’re always near your classes, food, recreation facilities and everything else that’s happening at KSU.

This ideal college Living-Learning experience offers you the support you need when you need it and the freedom to do everything you hope to do as a college student.

We know you are busy with jobs, class projects, student media or student organizations, so we make it easy for you to be connected to the CCI Commons’ community. We provide programs and perks that are fun and worthwhile.

Some of the benefits CCI Commons members enjoy include:

  • 24/7 access to a Mac lab and design space with a printer, copier, drafting tables, storage for your projects and much more.
  • Weekly programs, such as, guest speakers, field trips, workshops and contests geared to your major.
  • CCI Commons Director and CCI Commons student staff members with offices in Olson Hall.
  • Commons Coaches to help you navigate your first year.
  • Opportunities to meet with faculty and academic advisors in Olson Hall.
  • Other perks, such as, study groups and quiet study areas, plus donuts every Friday!
