Campus Safety

Kent State University is committed to protecting life and property, maintaining the peace and ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for students, faculty, staff and guests of the university. We offer a wide range of comprehensive resources and services to help mitigate, respond and recover from incidents affecting our campus communities.  Services include security aides and escorts, campus police, FLASH alerts subscriptions (text notification system) and the University Stewards Program.

LGBTQ Student Center

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Student Center is dedicated to providing the students, faculty and staff at Kent State University with education, training, support and resources that cater to the gender and sexual minority community and its allies.

Student Multicultural Center

The Student Multicultural Center (SMC) supports students of color and ensures our students have cultural affirmation and a sense of belonging here at Kent State University. In the SMC, we value growth of the individual student, cultural affirmation, empowerment of students, creating a sense of belonging and connecting communities that affirms appreciation for difference.

Women's Center

The Kent State University Women’s Center is here to support you, whether you’re a student, faculty member and staff member through advocacy and education about women, gender, and diversity. The Center offers resources that address matters of particular concern to you by providing education, information and referral programs and services.

The DeWeese Health Center

The mission of The DeWeese Health Center is to provide quality healthcare, psychological counseling, and healthcare education for the campus community in support of the Kent State University mission.

Counseling and Psychological Resources

Staffed by licensed psychologists, we provide high quality, personalized care to all KSU students, while also providing consultation to the university community regarding mental health concerns.  24-hour resources also provided. 

Step Up & Speak Out

This suicide prevention campaign represents a collaborative effort of Kent State University Psychological Services, University Health Services, the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, and Police Services and aims to support individuals in need by educating University community members on protocols and resources designed to assist in disruptive situations or with distressed individuals.

Sexual & Relationship Violence Support Services

The Office of Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services, (SRVSS - pronounced "serves"), at Kent State University, was established to educate students about personal safety and violence prevention, to empower them to build healthier relationships, and to be responsive to students in need.
