Unique Opportunity for Ohio

Aviation is undergoing a significant transformation with Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technologies—from electric and hybrid aircraft to VTOL vehicles and autonomous systems—but the critical infrastructure to support these innovations has been lacking. The AAM³T Innovation Hub fills this gap by integrating manufacturing, maintenance, digital engineering, technology development, and policy making to drive safety, efficiency, and innovation. Leveraging Ohio’s rich aerospace legacy and Kent State University’s expertise—along with strong industry, government, and community partnerships—this first-of-its-kind hub advances AAM capabilities, positions Ohio as the national epicenter for air mobility development and serves as a core element of the Statewide AAM Strategy, a priority of the Governor.

Economic Impact and Workforce Development

The Innovation Hub will transform Ohio’s economy—benefiting Northeast Ohio and the entire state—while evolving FAA certification standards. This initiative will revitalize local communities, boost investments, and secure Ohio’s advantage in the aerospace arena.

Economic Activity: The hub will generate more than $300 million in economic activity in its first four years, driving infrastructure investments, capital expenditures, and local spending, while drawing federal, state, and private funding to bolster regional resilience.

Partners and Potential Partners

The AAM3T Innovation Hub will bring together a strong network of local, regional, and state partners, playing a vital role in securing investments and promoting Ohio as a leader in AAM Innovation. Kent State has a long history of working with many of these critical stakeholders and we are working with this network to secure partners in the hub to include government, industry, and non-profit organizations.
