Construction Management High School Discovery Program
Kent State University
College of Architecture and Environmental Design
Summer 2025
The Kent State University Construction Management High School Discovery Program provides a great opportunity for high school students to tackle construction document reading, estimating, and scheduling in a college setting. Students will work in teams alongside Kent State faculty while completing hands-on projects that allow them to explore the field of construction management and to evoke critical thinking and develop deeper problem-solving skills.
The Discovery Program will:
- Provide hands-on and experiential learning activities incorporating construction drawings, estimating, scheduling, computer software, and materials/methods.
- Educate the participants on safety principles, project management, and other key topics in the industry.
- Encourage and educate the participants on professional career options available in construction.
- Offer the participants the opportunity to interact and collaborate with Kent State University faculty, industry professionals and current students.
- Provide students with the experience of visiting an active construction site.
- Provide positive experiences on a university campus.
The day camp is a one-week program, Monday – Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM with lunch provided.
