Associate Dean

The College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) at Kent State University invites applications for a tenured Associate Dean at the rank of Associate or Full Professor—a twelve-month appointment that begins with the 2023 academic year. The successful candidate will serve as the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and serve on the College Executive Committee. This position requires a collaborative visionary leader to harness the College’s potential for growth of its existing programs as well as lead in the development of new programs and initiatives. They will be responsible for shared administrative oversight of the College’s programs, curriculum, advising, recruitment, internal and external assessment with a particular focus on graduate programs and education. They will assist with accreditation for the professional degrees, facilitate faculty research initiatives, and represent the College as an active participant on appropriate University committees. In addition to the administrative duties, the candidate will teach in their area of expertise at 25% load.

Architecture Program Director

The College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) at Kent State University invites applications and nominations for Program Director for its Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.S.) and Master of Architecture (M.Arch) programs starting July 1, 2023. The successful candidate will help formulate and implement an ambitious vision for 21st-century global architectural education through creative collaboration with faculty and as an integral member of the CAED’s leadership team. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of effective academic leadership and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion along with exceptional teaching in architecture and research/creative work.

Schidlowski Emerging Faculty Fellowship

The College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) at Kent State University invites applications and nominations for the annual Schidlowski Emerging Faculty Fellowship starting Fall 2023. This nine-month residency is designed to engage promising junior faculty candidates in a dynamic and progressive academic environment at the outset of an architecture faculty career. In addition to a competitive teaching salary for the 2023-24 academic year, the fellowship provides a separate fund to support the production of an original design research project to be exhibited and presented as part of the college lecture series during the Spring 2023 semester.
