Council General Qualifications

Note: The Education Abroad Executive Leadership Council is currently suspended, but will restart for the Fall 2021 semester.

Education Abroad Executive Leadership Council members, as representatives of the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office, are held to the highest standard of academic excellence, personal integrity and professionalism.

We seek self-motivated students with an unparalleled passion for international education and travel who can interact within a culturally diverse population of students at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Students must demonstrate a capacity for public speaking, working both on independent projects and on teams, and have the ability to identify and solve problems based on their own critical thinking ability.
Ideally, Council members will have had a previous study abroad or study away experience and will have some second language ability. These are, however, not requirements for admittance to Council membership.
