The Catholic University of Portugal is a private university that was established in 1967 in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. The School of Human Sciences houses the Master of Arts in Communication Science program, which is among the most prestigious in Portugal. The Research Center for Communication and Culture (CECC) at the Catholic University of Portugal received the top rank of "Excellent" by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.
The Catholic University of Portugal, located in the northern area of Lisbon near the National Library and the University Stadium, consists of 15 education and research units, which are located in four main areas: Beiras, Braga, Lisbon (headquarters) and Oporto. The university enrolled 205 students at the M.A. level and 25 students at the doctoral level in the communication studies program during the 2013/14 academic year.
