Lambda Pi Eta to Hold Charity Social Event

Lambda Pi Eta Upsilon Chapter, Kent State University’s communication studies honors organization, will be holding its primary philanthropic event for the semester next week. On Wednesday Nov. 18 from 5-7 p.m. in Taylor Hall Room 202 A-B (architecture floor), Lambda Pi Eta will be hosting Charity Game Night. The entrance fee is on a donation basis, with a recommended donation of $5. The donation gets attendees food from Chipotle, Hungry Howie’s, and Jimmy John’s. There will also be numerous board games as well as two projectors with multiplayer video games to play.

The proceeds from the event will go to a needy local family consisting of a single mother and her daughters, ages eight and 14 year old. The money raised will be used to buy gifts for the family, which the organization will purchase toward the end of the semester.

“This event is a good opportunity to use learned communication skills in order to set a philanthropic event into motion. Everyone is encouraged to stop by, even if you just want to eat our food,” Vincent Siciliano, president of Lambda Pi Eta Upsilon chapter said.

Anyone who is interested in attending may RSVP by Facebook or show up at the door. Donations can be made using cash and credit card.

“Students can eat dinner at a great price, hang out with friends and other students and contribute to a cause all at once, which are all great things. We are very excited to be able to hold this kind of event right here in Taylor Hall,” Siciliano said.
