Email Template #4: Sample Graduate Coordinator Email

Dear John,

Thank you for your interest in the Higher Education and Student Personnel graduate program at Kent State University. My name is Dr. Thomas and I am the graduate coordinator for this program.

The Master of Education degree in Higher Education and Student Personnel prepares graduates to assume a wide variety of administrative positions, from entry level to Director level, at colleges and universities throughout the world. The curriculum, grounded in theory and focused on practice, was designed to reinforce entry-level skills, support the development of diverse student populations, and cultivate the skills and competencies necessary to lead and administer programs. By focusing on the “big picture,” students are able to gain an understanding of the complex environment in which they will be working.

Graduates are prepared to work as staff and administrators in campus life, career services, judicial affairs, resident services, alumni, admissions, academic success, academic advising, international student services, institutional advancement, upward bound, student disability services, student multicultural centers, and undergraduate and graduate studies.

The cost of attending Kent State varies from year to year and is based upon many factors. Information about current tuition and fees can be found here: https://www.kent.edu/tuition.

If you have any questions, please contact me at sbthomas@kent.edu.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Stephen Thomas
Graduate Coordinator
